The First National Forum of History Teachers, as well as an expanded meeting of the Expert Council for the Development of History Education, brought together about 200 representatives of the country’s universities from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok.

ASU representative Vladimir Kulakov took part in the round table “Drafting a Historical and Cultural Standard for Non-Historical Majors and Training Areas in Higher Education”.

The most important news for universities, announced at the forum, was an increase in the number of hours allocated to the subject History of Russia. However, according to the Minister of Science and Higher Education, the issue of the quality of teaching is more important. Related to this was the issue of methods of teaching history. All participants of the event agreed with the words of the speakers that distance learning did not live up to the expectations and could not replace teacher’s live, in-class contact with students.
