ASU Congratulates Astrakhan on Being Awarded the Honorary Title of City of Labor Valour
A corresponding decree has been signed today by Russian President Vladimir Putin following a meeting of the Pobeda Russian Organizing Committee.
The title of City of Labor Valour is awarded to cities whose residents made a significant contribution to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, ensuring the uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at industrial enterprises and demonstrating large-scale labor heroism and dedication.
A special working group, including local historians, experts and volunteers from Astrakhan Region, studied the topic for a year.
The experts were assisted by professors and employees of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University and employees of the State Archive of Astrakhan Region, the Astrakhan Regional Scientific Library named after N. K. Krupskaya and the Astrakhan Museum-Reserve within the framework of special agreements and contracts. The study resulted in writing a book and replenishing the digital bank.
We congratulate all the residents of Astrakhan on the honorary title awarded to the city, which will allow to preserve and pass on the historical truth to future generations.
