ASU Rector Sums Up the Results of University’s Activities in 2022

Konstantin Markelov has spoken about the results that the university managed to achieve and announced plans and goals for the coming year at another meeting of the ASU Academic Council.

As the rector noted, the theme of 2022 was the 90th anniversary of the university. For instance, ASU was named after Vasily Tatishchev, an outstanding Russian scientist and statesman.

The confirmation of member status in the Priority 2030 programme is another major achievement of Astrakhan Tatishchev State University. In 2023, the university will receive an additional 100 million rubles for spatial, staff, social and technological development.

The transformation of all areas of activity at the university is underway. Konstantin Markelov reviewed in detail each of the areas. For instance, the model of creation and implementation of educational projects at ASU was fundamentally changed according to 2+2+2 system, the introduction of individual educational trajectories model began, and the enrollment for 9 new bachelor and 11 master programs was carried out.

The university has been implementing the Startup as Thesis project for the third year in a row. The participants of the educational cluster of the university will make every effort to ensure that the startup defense becomes a common practice.

The opening of a military training center at ASU was another important achievement. The enrollment of students will start as early as in 2023.

The university managed to increase its scientific potential for the period of 2020-2022. The implementation of all measures of support for young researchers and scientists will continue.

Konstantin Markelov mentioned that Astrakhan Tatishchev State University held the second iteration of the international forum Caspian Region: Sustainable Development Trajectories. The Astrakhan government will hold the 2023 Caspian Forum in May.

The rector also touched upon the issues related to the university’s youth policy, human resources management, infrastructure development and digital transformation of the university.
