On April 23, 2014, the round-table talk “Renewable Vegetative Biomaterials: Researches, Tendencies, Technologies” has been held at the Chemical Department of Astrakhan State University.
The themes of the presentations were:
- “Application of Glycyrrhiza Glabra, Achillea Micrantha, and Helichrysum Arenarium to Develop Biopreparations with Antibacterial Properties” by Ms. Oxana Astafyeva from ASU’s Laboratory of Biotechnologies;
- “Modern Food Technologies of Innovative Technological Center of Agricultural Industrial Technologies & Nutrition” by Professor Marina Lazko, Head of ASU’s Chair of Zoological Engineering & Animal Morphology;
- “Lotus Nucifera: Biotechnologies, Pharmacology, Biomaterials on Its Base” by Dr. Natalya Lomteva, Associate Professor of ASU’s Chair of Molecular Biology, Genetics, & Biochemistry;
- “Research & Educational Center “Green Chemistry” Today & Tomorrow” by Professor Alexey Tyrkov, Head of ASU’s Chair of Inorganic & Bioorganic Chemistry.
An exposition of products manufactured by a number of small innovative enterprises operating at ASU has been arranged for our students, who have played an active role in the round-table talk.
