Scientific Library of ASU Gets Books about Russian Christianity

Astrakhan State University has been donated a series of books about Russian writers and about Russian Christianity.

A unique 12-volume series “Russian Classic Writers & Russian Christianity” has been donated to our University by the International Public Fund of Orthodox Nations Unity.

A number of ASU’s top officials has taken part in the presentation arranged by our Department of Social Communications - Prof. Stefanova (our First Vice Rector for Main Activties), Prof. Romanova (Director of our Institute of Humanities), Prof. Baeva (Dean of the Department of Social Communications), Dr. Proshunina (Director of our Scientific Library), to say nothing of our students. As for our distinguished guests, it was His Eminence Iona (Metropolitan of Astrakhan & Kamyzyak of the Russian Orthodox Church) and reps of Astrakhan regional authorities who came to the presentation. Professor Valeriy Alekseev from Lomonosov Moscow State University, President of the International Public Fund of Orthodox Nations Unity, has come to donate the books to our University personally; he has pointed out that cooperation with universities in general and with ASU in particular is essential for his public organization.
