Project “School-University”: Term 2 of Academic Year 2013-2014
Seven video conferences for students of Astrakhan’s high schools have been held during the 2nd term of academic year 2013-2014 as a part of one single project “School-University”.
Dr. Lyudmila Yakovenkova, Associate Professor of the Chair of Molecular Biology, Genetics, & Biochemistry, has given a class whose theme was “Visual Sensor System”. She has told students about the biophysics of visual perception, demonstrated models of eye structure, and presented experiments to correct myopia and hyperopia.
Dr. Vladimir Vanichkin, Associate Professor of the Chair of Mathematics & Its Teaching Technique, has given examples of tackling mathematical tasks of various types. The theme of his class was “Mathematics as a System of Thinking”.
Ms. Albina Ismukhambetova, Assistant of the Chair of Theoretical Physics & Physics Teaching Technique, has given a video conference in Physics; she has discussed the energy approach to studying physical phenomena of different nature. During her class, planetary models have been analyzed, as well as the laws of energy conservation for liquids and for thermal conditions; she gave students tasks related to these issues.
Ms. Vera Gudyrina, Junior Professor of the Chair of Russia’s History, has given an interactive lecture “Political Disunity of Ancient Russia. Russian Lands & Princedoms (Late 12th - Early 16th Centuries)”.
A video class by Dr. Marina Golovanyova, Associate Professor of the Chair of Modern Russian Language, has concerned the Unified State Examination in the Russian language, particularly its third part (Part C) that contains the most difficult tasks. Special attention has been paid to writing a good essay and checking it, how to determine the right theme for an essay and choose the right issues to analyze in it.
Dr. Elvira Matveeva, Associate Professor of the Chair of Inorganic & Bioorganic Chemistry, has given a class “Astrakhan Region’s Natural Resources: Prospects of Their Studies & Application”.
Mr. Oleg Evdoshenko, Junior Professor of the Chair of Information Systems, has given a presentation “Modern Programming Technologies in Information Science”. His class focused on the programming language C Sharp and on the software development system Microsoft Visual Studio.
