From ASU – to World Championship
05.09.2014
Astrakhan State University will become Astrakhan’s only volunteer center for the 16th FINA World Championships 2015 to be held in Kazan. Vladimir Redko, Chief of the New Step Volunteer Center operating at ASU, and Galina Gulina, a recruiter, have told the participants of the Forum “SeliAS-2014” how to become a volunteer and to go to the capital of Tatarstan.
On September 04, Vladimir Redko gave his presentation “Learn Everything about FINA-2015” as a part of the agenda of the section “Media” of the Forum “SeliAS-2014”. He and his assistant Galina Gulina have told how to become a volunteer at the FINA-2015 Championships.
The two students of ASU have told how to join the team of volunteers and what work a volunteer will have to handle during the Championships. According to Vladimir, the number of volunteers from one and the same town or city will be limited (only several dozens of people), so their selection will be quite tough. A successful candidate will have to demonstrate a good knowledge of English, a high level of motivation, good skills of working with people of various nations and cultures, and stress-resistance. He or she also has to be ready to pass through several weeks of very active work.
Since September 20, anyone who wishes to become a volunteer can register on the web site of the Championships as a candidate. After that, all the candidates will be distributed among the regional offices. As for the New Step Volunteer Center, they expect to receive over 100 candidates who will claim to become a volunteer of the 16th FINA World Championships 2015 in Kazan.
