Young People from Caspian Countries Sign Joint Declaration

ASU has become a site for the Youth Caspian Summit, whose outcome is a five-sided resolution of cooperation.

Today Astrakhan State University has hosted the Youth Caspian Summit. Over 100 students from five countries washed by the Caspian Sea (Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Iran) have taken part in it.

As any other guests of our University, the Summit participants have been shown facilities and premises of our University. As they say, they were impressed with the atmosphere of permanent enhancement that was felt very well at any lecture hall or facility of ASU.

Besides youth leaders and activists, managers and staff of relevant bodies of governments of the five participating countries have taken part in the summit. In particular, ASU has been visited by Mr. Sergey Pospelov (Chief of the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs), by Mr. Modaber Ruhulla (Counselor for Youth National Projects of Iran’s Ministry of Youth & Sports), by Ms. Gyunay Nazarova (a media expert of the National Council of Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan), by Mr. Askhat Ergabylov (Chief Experts of the Committee of Youth Affairs of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Education & Science), and by Mr. Muhammet Dzhumaniyazov(a coordinator of youth projects from Turkmenistan). The meeting has been moderated by Ms. Galina Zoteeva, Deputy Chairperson of the Government of Astrakhan Region.

Discussion and signing of the resolution of the Youth Caspian Summit has become a key point on the Summit agenda. According to Mr. Pospelov, this document appeals the participants to set up a special body to coordinate joint activities performed by activists of the five Caspian countries.
