Psychologist’s Day Celebration

On November 22, the professional holiday of “human souls’ healers” is celebrated in Russia. Students and faculty of the Department of Psychology of Astrakhan State University have celebrated it, too.

Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, has come to the Department in person, as well as his daughter Anna. Accompanied by members of the volunteer team of psychologists “Wings of Good”, the two actors have been passing from a lecture hall to a lecture hall, thus having caused an unexpected, but a cheerful stir at lectures. Using a magic hat, the “masters of Psychology” could read the students’ thoughts and find out what they are thinking about before the upcoming session. There were presents as well: magic candies with psychological forecasts, mandalas as a unique tool of self-knowledge and self-development, as well as funny stories that happened in psychologists’ everyday practices. This is how the volunteering psychologists have congratulated their future colleagues.

To continue the holiday, a peculiar gallery of visualizing projects by students of our Department of Psychology has been arranged. Applying various graphical tools and techniques, the future psychologists have interpreted a well-known Russian psychological verse “Another human soul is difficult to see”. It was clear that everything is OK with both their sense of humor and their creative abilities.

Students and faculty of the Department of Psychology of ASU would like to congratulate everyone who teaches Psychology and applies psychological knowledge in their professional activities, as well as to wish them inspiration, patience, endurance, a firm belief in themselves, and good physical and psychological health!
