Most Athletic Departments of ASU Determined

In late December 2015, the official ceremony to award winners of sports socialization has taken place at Astrakhan State University.

Over 600 people have taken part in the recent sporting events. For two months, our students could learn how to play volleyball and basketball, as well as find out interesting facts about the history of these sports. The whole series of sporting events was based on volunteering, independent activities, and a wide creative initiative of the young people. There was an informal atmosphere of friendship in the sports club. Any student approved by a medical examination to go in for sports could join the athletic community of our University and take part in the recent competitions.

ASU’s School of Sports, Physical Development and Healthy Lifestyle has also arranged the Sports Festival in Volleyball & Basketball. The event has included a number of exercises: a quiz in the history of volleyball and basketball, shooting a ball through the hoop, throwing a ball to a teammate, passing a ball one by one, and penalty shoots. As a result of the Festival, the following prize winners have been identified:

Volleyball:

1st place – the Department of Mathematics & Information Technologies;

2nd place – the Department of World Economy & Management;

3rd place – the Department of Pedagogics, Social Work and Physical Training.

Basketball:

1st place – the Department of Geology & Geography;

2nd place – the Agrarian Department;
