Our Students’ Achievements in Robotics

Students of the Department of Physics & Technology of Astrakhan State University have won the RoboPicnic-2016 competition in Robotics that has recently taken place in Moscow.

Three 3rd-year-students of ASU – Ivan Kolesnikov, Mikhail Ilmenskiy, and Timur Kuanshkaliev – have represented our University at the Moscow competition. They demonstrated their robots in two nominations: “RoboSorting” (with their Robot the Pucks Harvester) and “Tough Road” (with their Robot the Fat Man). The former nomination implied collecting pucks of a definite color, sorting and delivering them to the base; the latter aimed to endure difficulties of a hard road (a gravel area, stair steps, a bridge, a hill, etc.).

At the end of the competition, our students have taken the 1st place in both nominations; they have been awarded with valuable prizes – single-board computers and accessories.

Let us congratulate them!
