Webinar in Power Engineering for Our Students

In middle March 2016, students of Astrakhan State University’s Department of Physics & Technology specializing in power engineering have taken part in the webinar of the 4th business platform “Own Generation at Enterprise”.

Russia’s best practicing experts in the field of power engineering, power distribution, and risk management in electrical engineering have spoken at the webinar. Our students could learn the speakers’ experience gained in implementing innovations in power engineering, ask them questions, and get their valuable advice.

The webinar has also included a master class to set up one’s own corporate generation in a quick, reliable, and inexpensive way by means of a rented model of equipment.

Our students themselves research actively in the field of small-scale power engineering and distributed generation. Two of them are currently developing a 26-MW-gas-producing unit to supply a greenhouse enterprise; another couple of students is working to create a 2-MW-power supply unit to modernize the production process at a chemical enterprise; a fifth student develops an autonomous photoelectric system to supply power for a tourism recreation facility. A sixth student develops a network solar power station to increase the efficiency of power supply of an administrative facility.

Thanks to this event, our students have obtained valuable information concerning innovations in the field of power and electrical engineering, which they could apply in their research activities, including execution of their diploma projects.
