Norwegian Delegation Visits ASU

A delegation from the Kingdom of Norway has visited Astrakhan State University.

The Norwegian party was represented by Mr. Leidulv Namtvedt (Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of Norway to Russia), Ms. Ane Storvestre Bjørkum (Counsellor for Trade, Industry and Fisheries at the Norwegian Embassy in Moscow), and Mr. Frode Mo (Counsellor for Trade at the Embassy). The distinguished guests were accompanied by Mr. Denis Afanasiev (Minister for International & Foreign Economic Relations of Astrakhan Region) and Mr. Timur Rakhmatulaev (Deputy Chief of the Ministry’s International Division). The meeting was a part of the Norwegian party’s visit to Astrakhan Region to participate in a Russian-Norwegian seminar in aquaculture.

Our Norwegian guests were shown the main facilities of our University: lecture halls, labs, our swimming pool, canteens, student hostels, medical facilities, our Clear Water restaurant, etc.

The guests also watched a video about the main fields of activities that ASU performs, as well as about our main achievements. Telling them about our University, Prof. Alexander Lunev, our Acting Rector, pointed out that over the last years, much attention is paid to introduction of new technologies in our educational process, such as the project approach, fundamentals of lean production, quality management in education, etc. Besides, ASU takes action to socialize its students and provide excellent accommodation and nutrition conditions for them.

The distinguished guests showed real interest in all that information and wished partnership relations with ASU were established.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Lunev presented thematic souvenirs to the guests; the souvenirs were manufactured by our staff and related to the history of Astrakhan Region.
