2nd Training to Apply Multimedia Hardware for Conference Interpreting

The second training for the faculty staff of the Department of Foreign Languages of Astrakhan State University “Application of Hi-Tech Multimedia Hardware to Teach Conference Interpreting & Conference Logistics” has taken place.

This time, faculty of our Chair of Asian Languages and English Chair for Economics took part in this event. Our staff learnt how to apply the hi-tech hardware for conference interpreting, which is installed in Room #40 of the building of our Department of Foreign Languages. Until recently, this room was used only to train future conference interpreters, who study at our Caspian Higher School of Interpreting & Translation. Now faculty of other units of our Department can apply it as well.

The training was delivered by Ms. Ekaterina Krylova and Ms. Maria Avdaseva, who have been working with this hardware for several years and who teach disciplines in conference interpreting at our Department of Foreign Languages.

Our University is constantly developing and searching for new opportunities to train highly qualified specialists. The most modern equipment and hardware is available at ASU, e.g. our multimedia hardware for conference interpreting. Our future conference interpreters are trained in the setting similar to the work environment of conference interpreters in the European Parliament and in the European Commission.

Professors teaching other linguistic disciplines will take part in next trainings, too.
