Dean of ASU Gives Public Lecture in Humanities to School Teachers

Professor Lyudmila Baeva, Dean of the Department of Social Communications and an expert of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), has given a public lecture, which is a part of the project “New Scientific Revolution” by the RAS.

The theme of Prof. Baeva’s lecture was “Social Humanitarian Research of Information Society: Issues & Megatrends”; it was addressed to school teachers of History, Social Science, and ICT who came to the Astrakhan State University of Civil Engineering to listen to it. The lecture provided a general survey of researches that relate to the phenomenon of information society over the past decades. Prof. Baeva presented ideas and concepts by top scholars of the world and Russia whose research activities concern the theory of information society and analyze practical issues arising in the information epoch. Special attention was paid to such present-day megatrends as the NBIC revolution, promotion of information ethics, development of open and distance education, research of human and social anthropogenic changes, cyborgization, and human addiction to the information environment.

The event aimed to give up-to-date knowledge of scientific achievements to the professional pedagogical community and provide it with the right information environment to develop that knowledge.
