Well-Earned Bronze

The Caspian Wolves, the basketball team of Astrakhan State University, has gained the 3rd place in the higher division “Southern” of the Association of Student Basketball.

Six teams took part in the tournament: Southern Federal University (Rostov-on-Don, Russia), the Kuban State University of Physical Education, Sport and Tourism (Krasnodar, Russia), the Atyrau University of Oil and Gas (Atyrau, Kazakhstan), the Krasnodar College of Electronic Instrument Engineering, Kuban State Agrarian University, and Astrakhan State University. The Caspian Wolves returned home with a worthy result, as they took the 3rd place in Southern Russia. Besides, Igor Levakovsky, our forward, became a top 5 player and was awarded as the best small forward of the division.

One should remark that our team gained a medal already on the 2nd year of its existence. As other teams’ experience shows, it took them much more time to achieve such a result.

Mr. Farkhad Sultanov, the coach of the Caspian Wolves, would like to thank the School of Sports, Physical Development and Healthy Lifestyle of Astrakhan State University for its support.

The final of the regional division is approaching: it will take place on Feb. 17. Our managers are preparing a real show, and everyone is welcome to come and see it.

Çàñëóæåííàÿ áðîíçà!

Let us congratulate our Caspian Wolves on winning a well-earned bronze medal!
