Our Chess Players Won City Contest

The School of Sports, Physical Development and Healthy Lifestyle of Astrakhan State University, jointly with the Astrakhan Chess Federation, has arranged a tournament among students of Astrakhan’s universities.

30 students of four higher educational institutions – Astrakhan State University, Astrakhan State Technical University, Astrakhan State Medical University, and the Astrakhan State University of Civil Engineering – took part in the event.

As a result of a hard struggle, the strongest chess players were revealed:

1st place – Islam Kishibaev (Astrakhan State University);

2nd place – Vladimir Sokolov (Astrakhan State Technical University);

3rd place – Rovshen Sultanov (Astrakhan State University).

All the tournament participants obtained certificates; the winner got a special prize from the Astrakhan Regional Branch of the Russian Students Sport Union.
