Our Future Lawyers Take Part in Ecological Parliamentary Discussion

Students of the Law Department of Astrakhan State University have taken part in the roundtable held on March 01, 2017 at the Duma (Parliament) of Astrakhan Region.

The event was held as a part of the Year of Ecology. Its main theme was ecology of Astrakhan Region. The range of experts included Mr. Vasily Tarasiuk, a Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, deputies of the Duma of Astrakhan Region who represent the Liberal Democratic Party, reps of the ministries and public organizations that deal with ecological issues, as well as blog writers. Undergraduate students of the Law Department of ASU played an active role in the discussion. They presented their report concerning the legal regulation of ecological safety, which aroused a vivid discussion; the report was also highly assessed by the experts. The head of the fraction of the Liberal Democratic Party invited the students to take part in analyzing ecology-related legislation initiatives of other regions of Southern Russia.

At the end of the event, letters of thanks and gifts were handed to the participants.
