First Steps on Career Ladder

A group of young people has completed its studies at the Student Academy of Professional Growth established by the Center of Career Planning of Astrakhan State University.

The program was delivered from October to December 2016. It aimed to help our students plan their careers. Our first-year-students showed especially profound interest in this project.

Clearly, the initial point of a young person’s career planning is analyzing their opportunities, skills, and professional competencies. It is necessary to answer the main questions “Who am I?” and “What can I do?” The trainees were offered a number of trainings, master classes, and business games. A competition of students’ business projects became the culmination point of the program. It determined the following prize winners:

Winner – Darya Lisovaya (the Department of Foreign Languages);

1st runner-up – Yulia Kirilina (the Department of Mathematics & Information Technologies);

2nd runners-up – Azalia Bekenova (the Chemical Department), Maria Lagutina (the Department of Foreign Languages), and Maria Tereshenok (the Department of Foreign Languages).

Upon their completion of the program, our students received official certificates, which were presented by Prof. Alexander Treshchev, our Vice Rector for Academic Activities. Dr. Yulia Tomashevskaya from our Chair of World Economy & Finances, who chaired the jury, granted diplomas to the winners and participants of the competition.
