ASU Honors WW2 Veterans

Shortly before the upcoming Day of Victory, a special event to honor veterans of World War 2 took place at Astrakhan State University.

The celebration is traditionally held at the Clear Water Restaurant on the campus of ASU; it began with a welcoming speech by Prof. Alexander Lunev, our Acting Rector, who congratulated everyone on the upcoming holiday and wished them a long and prospering life. “Experience gained during the war years, which led our country to the great victory, is the backbone that makes our spirit strong, gives us hope for a bright and wonderful future of all the generations! Let me express my most profound and sincere gratitude to our veterans for their feats”, he said.

The Acting Rector’s speech was followed by other participants’ speeches. Throughout the whole ceremony, the veterans were told a lot of warmhearted words; they could enjoy bright concert numbers.
