King Sejong Institute to Be Opened at Astrakhan State University

In December 2016, Dongseo University (South Korea) and Astrakhan State University (Russia) submitted their joint application to participate in a grant, which is to be provided by the King Sejong Institute Foundation (Sejonghakdang).

The KSI is the largest South Korean institution promoting the Korean language and culture all over the world.

Our application passed a severe competition: only six applications of 51 were supported. It will be the fifth King Sejong Institute in Russia. Now anyone living in Astrakhan and interested in the Korean language can study it at Astrakhan State University, as well as take part in events dedicated to the Korean culture. Our students will be able to choose Korean as their secondary, and later on, as their primary specialization.

One should remark that the launch of the new King Sejong Institute is not the only joint project by Dongseo University and by Astrakhan State University. Since September 2017, our joint educational program “Information Systems & Technologies” will be available for our students.
