Students of ASU Participate in Chinese Language Competition
Undergraduate students of the Department of Foreign Languages of Astrakhan State University have taken part in the 3rd Chinese Language Competition for International Students in Minsk, Belarus.
The event took place as part of the project “One Belt, One Road”. The participants from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and China were to interpret and translate from Russian into Chinese and vice versa during two days. Besides, the contestants took part in simulated business talks and even acted as conference interpreters.
The program also included several master classes related to translation and interpreting, in particular, the business constituent of this profession. According to the event participants, this competition provided them with a unique opportunity to check their knowledge and skills, act as real interpreters and translators, and gain precious experience in this field.
