Intermediate Testing for Trainees of Presidential Program

The first intermediate testing for trainees currently covering the Presidential Program has taken place at Astrakhan State University.

The testing procedure included several stages. One of them was to test the trainees’ general knowledge of economy in the Modeus system. 16 trainees passed it.

The tasks aimed to check:

  • Comprehension of regularities in the formation of market demand; skills to assess its elasticity; knowledge of quantitative correlations between price changes and profits depending on a differing price elasticity; skills to apply this knowledge to tackle price formation issues;
  • Skills to classify the real markets depending on their structures; comprehension of specific features of economic behavior of companies at markets with a differing structure;
  • Knowledge of the main principles of interaction with competitors on oligopolistic markets and selection of competition strategies;
  • Knowledge of comparative advantages and disadvantages, various legal organizational forms of companies;
  • Awareness of the current macroeconomic tendencies, benchmarks, and indicators to assess and forecast changes in the macroeconomic environment;
  • Awareness of goals and tasks of the official macroeconomic policy; knowledge of its main tools; skills to apply them under various conditions.

The test duration was 60 minutes. All the trainees got A’s and B’s for their test performance.
