Chairperson of Council of University Rectors of Southern Russia Visits ASU

On March 01, 2018, Professor Marina Borovskaya, Chairperson of the Council of University Rectors of Southern Russia and Rector of Southern Federal University in Rostov-on-Don, visited Astrakhan State University to meet our faculty and students.

Numerous questions concerning science and education were asked during the event. The distinguished guest told about the advantages of the Unified State Examination that helped standardize the admission procedure to universities, as well as about the Bologna Process that gives students of good chance to take part in both horizontal and vertical mobility. Prof. Borovskaya also emphasized the importance of mastering competencies while studying and applying those competencies in practice afterwards. Much attention was paid to students’ rights.

After Prof. Borovskaya’s speech, the audience could ask her any question. They asked her about the cost of studies, about loans for education, about social scholarships, etc.

At the end of the meeting, the distinguished guest thanked the audience and wished our University smooth sailing.
