ASU May Become a Site for National Competition in Italian Language

Mr. Giuseppe Lo Porto, Head of the Education Department of the Consulate-General of the Italian Republic in Russia, and Mr. Konstantin Markelov, Acting Rector of Astrakhan State University, discussed an opportunity to arrange Russia’s largest competition for students studying Italian at Astrakhan State University.

The first competition was held in 2015 in 19 regions of our country. It took place in Moscow several times. Now there is a real chance for Astrakhan to host this event. According to Mr. Lo Porto, “We believe it’s time to “leave” Moscow. It’s an issue of strategic importance to hold this competition in Astrakhan”.

In his turn, Mr. Markelov confirmed that ASU has all the necessary facilities to host such a large-scale event. In particular, our Caspian Higher School of Interpreting & Translation is one the best in Russia.

Let us remark that winners and laureates of the final stage of this competition shall obtain special privileges for enrolment to universities to master their future professions.
