French Professor Teaches Students of ASU International Communications

Professor Charlotte Lenoir came to Astrakhan State University to give our students a cycle of lectures. She is from Artois University (Arras, France), with which ASU has been in close cooperation for a long time.

The distinguished guest already met our Acting Rector and shared her plans related to further cooperation with him.

Prof. Lenoir gave lectures in intercultural management. Nowadays it is a discipline of great importance, especially for Astrakhan Region, where many peoples live. Besides, ASU aims to train specialists who are able to work with foreign companies and who would be demanded at the labor market. Our students cannot but obtain knowledge how to make business contacts with people of a different culture. Prof. Lenoir’s audience included students of the Department of Foreign Languages and the Department of World Economy & Management of ASU. All the classes were delivered in English.

Prof. Lenoir highly appreciated our students’ real interest towards her lectures, as well as their being open and their active participation in interactive classes. She also appreciated their language skills and general erudition.

Our students showed that they work in a team efficiently. Our future interpreters helped their peers cope with the set tasks.

The students remarked that they liked an interesting combination of theory and practical blocks at the lectures. They discovered a lot of new things; they learnt the cultural specifics of running business in Europe and Asia with particular international companies as real examples.
