Zootechnicians of ASU Learn to Breed Rabbits by Applying Artificial Insemination
This week students of the Department of Agribusiness, Technologies, & Veterinary Medicine of Astrakhan State University, as well as our student studying Veterinary at the Department of Secondary Professional Education, have visited a rabbit-breeding farm in Astrakhan Region.
Their trip was arranged as part of the scientific seminar “Issues of Artificial Insemination under Farm Conditions (with Rabbit Breeding as an Example)”.
Gennady Sukal breeds rabbits of a French breed in the village of Kozlovo. Now he has 200 animals whose reproduction is performed by applying artificial insemination.
Our students learnt much about specifics of keeping, feeding, and breeding rabbits at a farm; they took part in artificial insemination of female rabbits.
The trip was both informative and entertaining: the young people admired newly born and two-to-three-week-old rabbits; they made a photo session with tiny animals in their hands.
