Young Economists of ASU Perform Well at an Internet Competition
Students of the Department of World Economy & Management have taken part in the recently held Internet competition in Microeconomics & Macroeconomics; the event is held at the Saint Petersburg Branch of the Higher School of Economics on an annual basis.
As a result of the two-day intellectual battle, our students have taken the 3rd place in Macroeconomics.
Participation in this event has already become a good tradition for our students specializing in Economics. Every year student teams come to tackle nonstandard and quite frequently complex tasks in Economic Theory. The competition is not just a contest, but also an excellent means to get new knowledge and skills, since each task offered by its developers suggests several alternative ways to resolve it. For students and professors of the Chair of Economic Theory of ASU, it is some kind of a final report for the current academic year. Participation in the event helps our students demonstrate their abilities in tackling complicated and nontrivial economical tasks.
One could say that our Department of World Economy & Management has gained a good tradition. For the third straight year, the team of ASU has been among the top three teams, together with Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and Novosibirsk State University.
