Astrakhan State University Takes Part in European Union Program

Tatyana Goverdovskaya from our Chair of International Law and Alfiya Salkhenova from our Chair of Romanic Philology have won a Jean Monnet grant with their project “Application of EU Norms of Business Law in Russian Business Activities”.

The program of grants was named in honor of Jean Monnet, the well-known French politician and a co-founder of the European Union. It was launched in 1989 and concerns 78 countries.

The program aims to provide a high quality of teaching, researching, analyzing, and cooperating in the field of disciplines related to European integration at higher educational institutions in the European Union and outside it. It aims to enhance knowledge by researching and debating in themes related to the European Union’s history, politics, economy, and legislation, as well as the EU’s relations with other countries.

A specific feature of the project by Astrakhan State University is the interdisciplinary approach.

The grant includes funding of cooperation and publication projects. Roundtables of Russian and foreign specialists to discuss various aspects of business law are planned; their participants will concern economy and legislation of the European Union, as well as the Russian-EU relations in the field of business projects development.
