Guests from Slovakia Take a Look at ASU Robots and Listen to Our Conference Interpreters
Astrakhan State University welcomed a delegation from Slovakia headed by Peter Priputen, the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the Russian Federation. Another important guest — Vladimir Sinchenko, the Honorary Consul of the Republic in the Astrakhan region — also joined in a tour around the university lecture halls and laboratories.
The foreign delegation that included representatives of Slovak universities had a look at the ASU facilities and resources and talked to its employees. They were impressed by laboratories of the Institute of Physics and Mathematics, where an innovative idea grows from a project to a complete model.
Olga Vorontsova, Head of the Innovative and Technological Center of Multimedia Content, told the visitors about the center capacities for studying human biomechanics.
The Center of Innovative Transport Technologies showed the delegation modern automated storage facilities that is used by future logistics specialists to master their profession in practice.
Konstantin Markelov noted that the main goal of Astrakhan State University is to train in-demand experts for the region development. The potential for practical studies allows to graduate well-trained professionals. Besides, the university trains future specialists for the purposes and on demand of regional enterprises, thus guaranteeing them further employment.
Olga Egorova, Director of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation, told the delegation about the School capacities. Its facilities are one of the best in Russia in terms of infrastructure, and the conference interpreting equipment is as good as the one used in the UN or the European Commission. Ambassador Priputen also listened to the interpretation of the School MA students.
