ASU Boosts Partnership between Russia and Slovakia

Astrakhan State University hosted an official meeting of the Slovak delegation with the university administration. The ASU conference hall brought together representatives of the university main areas of activities. The foreign guests listened to proposals of the Astrakhan academic community and shared their own ideas on cooperation.

Konstantin Markelov, the ASU Acting Rector, thanked the delegation for their visit. In his reply, Peter Priputen, the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic, stressed that the Astrakhan region is one of the oldest and the most reliable partners of Slovakia. The meeting with the foreign visitors has boosted cooperation between two countries and brought new ideas in their longtime partnership.

Ambassador Priputen said that he already has new ideas of joint projects, for example in the sphere of automobile industry: Astrakhan State University has pilot projects in this area, while Slovakia is actively developing the industry and there are several major automobile plants.

Konstantin Markelov demonstrated his willingness to continue cooperation in all up-to-date areas, and the Ambassador expressed his belief that he would definitely paid another visit to Astrakhan State University.
