Astrakhan State University Holds Another Meeting of the Academic Council

The university administration congratulated their colleagues on well-deserved achievements and discussed prospects of informatization of educational and research activities.

The meeting traditionally started with pleasant things: ASU teachers and students who represented the university at interregional events received their certificates and letters of gratitude. For example, Konstantin Markelov, the ASU Acting Rector, received an official message of thanks from the exhibition association «FarExpo» for an excellent training of future designers and for his support of the 20th International competition of young designers «Generation NEXT».

The Academic Council also made special mention of the leader and members of the ASU team that participated in the International Forum on Financial Literacy «Time is Money», and the participants of the gathering of pedagogical brigades of the Southern Federal District «In the Service of Childhood».

Then the Council elected candidates for the positions of heads and professors of departments. The participants also supported initiatives on launching two new study programmes and linguistic specialization.

Sergey Buzychkin, Chief of the Project Office, told the colleagues about problems and prospects of developing electronic IT educational space at the university. At the moment, the university experts are improving a system for giving the students an access to electronic resources necessary for their studies, e.g. an online timetable, e-libraries or the virtual learning system «Moodle». The activities are carried out in accordance with the federal regulatory documents. The meeting participants recommended to involve members of the United Council of Students into beta-testing of the module «Student Account» and to assess prospects of developing a respective mobile app for students.
