ASU Holds an Open-Information Day in Chernoyarsky District

On January 23, representatives of several faculties of Astrakhan State University met with 10-11 grade pupils of Chernoyarsky district schools.

The event hall of the Chernoyarsky district secondary school gathered 140 senior pupils from the villages of Cherny Yar, Solenoe Zaymishche, Staritsa and Zubovka.

Astrakhan State University was represented by Zukhra Agleeva, the Acting Head of the Department of Modern Russian Language, Galina Belolipskaya, the Head of the Department of Theory & History of Journalism, Oleg Likholet, an associate professor of the Department of Russian History, Andrey Tryasuchev, an associate professor of the Department of Physiology, Morphology, Genetics & Biomedicine, as well as students of the Faculty of Philology & Journalism.

At the meeting, senior pupils got to know about admission rules in higher educational institutions, specificity of the admission campaign in 2019 and bonuses that the university gives to its potential students. The university teachers described BA programmes and life of their faculties in an interesting and exciting manner and answered the pupils’ questions.

The senior pupils participated in the competition "Young Philologist", organized by the Departments of Modern Russian Language and Literature. They got interested in the competition tasks which allowed both to revise the learnt topics, analyze the linguistic material and apply their logical thinking.

Within the framework of cooperation between the ASU Faculty of Philology & Journalism with Chernoyarsky district schools, the university representatives met with Tatiana Budanova, the Deputy Head of the Administration of the municipal entity "Chernoyarsky District", and Aleksandr Levchenko, the Chairman of the Chernoyarsky District Board.
