Azerbaijani Guests Take an Intensive Training Course at ASU
A group of trainees from Azerbaijan study the Russian language at Astrakhan State University. This project is implemented under the auspices of Rossotrudnichestvo, in particular by its Russian Information and Cultural Centre in Baku. Yesterday, the delegation met with Konstantin Markelov, the ASU Acting Rector.
The foreign guests shared their impressions of their stay at the university and the studies. They commended the work of their trainers, convenience of the educational process and warm hospitality in general. This visit is of much importance for the guests from the Republic of Azerbaijan as there is a great demand for Russian-speaking specialists and, in particular, for school teachers. Azerbaijan and Russia are tied with long-standing trade and humanitarian relations which are further strengthened. ASU is a partner of Rossotrudnichestvo as a southern outpost of Russia and promotes international friendship with the help of such projects as well.
Konstantin Markelov told the guests about current cooperation plans. The strategy involves launching the Azerbaijani Language and Culture Center based at ASU and the Center for Humanitarian Cooperation and the Russian Language in Baku. The guests, in their turn, shared their vision of the cooperation prospects and expressed their willingness to expand educational programmes, for example, to hold a summer school for Azerbaijani representatives.
The Azerbaijani guests are leaving Astrakhan on Sunday after completing their course. However, this visit is the beginning of the fruitful endeavor, and everything indicates that such intensive training courses will attract many trainees. ASU is ready to welcome friends from the neighboring country and provide all the educational opportunities for them.
