ASU Establishes Cooperation with Higher School of Economics

Today, Astrakhan State University has seen a meeting of Konstantin Markelov, the ASU Acting Rector, with Olga Afanasieva, the Deputy Dean for Admissions of the Faculty of Communications, Media and Design of the Department of Integrated Communications, National Research University "Higher School of Economics".

On February 9-10, ASU will hold the final onsite stage of the student educational competition "I am a Professional" in a number of HSE majors — advertising and PR, banking and finance, sociology, journalism, economy.

The guest thanked our Rector for the University’s readiness to become a venue and co-organizer of this large-scale educational event. The expert also noted that this year the event would bring together more than 18 thousand students of different technical, humanitarian and scientific majors. The competition covers 54 areas of study, of which the most popular fields are medicine and healthcare, as well as pedagogical sciences.

The Rector stressed that today the Higher School of Economics is one of the main HEIs that promote distance education. Astrakhan State University is also interested in this experience and would like to introduce it.

Olga Afanasieva thanked Konstantin Markelov for the meeting and supported the outlined cooperation initiatives, including student and staff exchange.
