ASU Presents Its Innovative Projects at an Agricultural Exhibition

Last week saw the 7th annual exhibition & conference “Seeds, Plant Protection Agents & Agritechnology. Astrakhan 2019”, organized by the Astrakhan Branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Rosselhoscenter”.

The event brought together leading suppliers of seeds and planting materials, plant protection agents, farming equipment and nonwoven covering materials. The event was also attended by employees of educational research institutions, agricultural producers, farmland owners, gardeners, representatives of processing and procurement organizations, including those from neighbouring regions.

At the exhibition, ASU presented a number of innovative projects, mainly on low-volume technologies on growing crops with the AeroGarden Deluxe aeroponic appliance, application of artificial intelligence in agriculture — agridrones, development of new feed supplements for milk cattle on the basis of organic raw materials, produced in Astrakhan region, the usage of a rain-generating device with extended technological capabilities, providing for lower energy consumption and raising qualitative indicators of irrigation.

The university employees carried out profession-oriented activities among the exhibition participants, and the students had a look at the displayed innovative agricultural technologies and participated in round-table discussions on crop research development.
