French Cuisine Dinner at ASU
Yesterday, on March 21, Astrakhan State University participated in the international gastronomical festival “Go?t de France/ Good France 2019”. ASU became the only university in Russia that held this unique event.
Each year, the festival “Goût de France” gathers more than two thousand chefs on five continents. Each restaurant offers a dinner where participants try the French cuisine and learn about its innovations and care for nutrition.
Astrakhan State University held the French gastronomical festival in its restaurant “Clean Water”. The event was attended by ASU Acting Rector Konstantin Markelov, Vice Rectors, faculty deans, teachers and administrative staff members of the university. Chef Vladimir Palatkin, who hosted the gastronomical festival, was creating the French atmosphere the whole evening, amazing and pleasing the audience with his culinary surprises.
According to the festival rules, the French dinner menu must contain healthy dishes with a minimum use of fats, sugar and salt. The chef made the French dinner with the assistance of his team, consisted of students of the ASU Faculty of Pedagogics & Social Work.
It should be recalled that the international event, held at Astrakhan State University, was organized by the Faculty of Pedagogics & Social Work with an active support of the Faculty of Foreign Languages. Five percent from the sum, collected during the dinner, will be transferred to the charity foundation “Association of Parents of Children with Autism”.
