A team of Astrakhan State University has started preparing for the international youth robotic competition "Eurobot 2019". Now the students of the Faculty of Physics & Technology are already designing two future mechanical stars of arena.

The ASU robotic engineers have already participated in this competition: last year, they demonstrated decent performance, outrivaling a number of competitors. This time, the battle is also expected to be serious: the ASU team will compete with such strong opponents as the Skoltech team and the Sberbank Robotics Laboratory. This year, the competition will take place at the National University of Science and Technology "MISIS" in Moscow.

Each year, the competitions have a unique topic-specific scenario. In 2018, these were "Cities of Robots", and the upcoming games are dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the periodic table of elements, developed by Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev, so the topic of the international youth robotic competition is "Factory of Atoms".

This year, the robots will have a task to select and classify different elements on a special field, weigh them, create new elements, conduct their own experiments and even predict the existence of unknown elements. Of course, the tasks are in the form of a game, by the robotic challenges to tackle are real.

According to the participants, the experience, gained from the past games, helped make the robots better in terms of engineering and by the number of performed tasks.
