Astrakhan State University Can Join the Consortium of Digital Universities
The proposal came to ASU Acting Rector Konstantin Markelov from the administration of the autonomous non-profit organization "Digital Country" at the V Anniversary Yalta International Economic Forum.
The event was organized by a specially established foundation "Yalta International Economic Forum", which is aimed at facilitating full integration of the Crimea to Russia, strengthening and further development of investment and innovation potential of the republic. The Yalta International Economic Forum has been held since 2015.
The ASU Rector participated in the section "Role of Science and Education in Digital Economy" and addressed the participants with a report on prospects of the Caspian macroregion development.
According to Konstantin Markelov, ASU undertakes to become an integrating power in academic and information spheres of the Caspian region, developing the export of educational services to train highly-skilled professionals, teaching 15 foreign languages, extending the network of foreign partners and forming a digital academic space.
In conclusion, the ASU Rector invited his colleagues to take part in the International Research & Applied Conference "Caspian Region in Digital Economy Era" which will be held on May 24-25 at Astrakhan State University.
Konstantin Markelov’s report drew the interest of the audience; in particular, the administration of the autonomous non-profit organization "Digital Country" suggested that ASU joined the Consortium of Digital Universities. At the Yalta International Economic Forum, the Rector also met with the management of the Eurasian Development Bank, of "Ak Bars" holding company and with Moscow Business Rights Commissioner Tatiana Mineeva.
