ASU on ISLAND 10-22: A Start Has Been Made

The team of Astrakhan State University is participating in the second educational workshop “Island 10-22”, which is being held on July 10-22 at Skoltech, Moscow. Our team consists of 11 persons, 8 of them are university employees. Today has seen the opening ceremony of the “Island”, kicking start to the educational programmes.

This year, Island 10-20 is based at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology. During 12 days, the project teams from different regions of Russia, consisting of representatives of universities, innovative and academic centres, public authorities and businesses, as well as individual participants will address project tasks and issues, related to educational programmes, and study at the workshop platforms. The main topic for discussion is a new place and role of universities in the modern educational system with regard to tackling tasks of technological breakthrough, regional development and digital transformation.

The Island participants will be told about the procedure of forming educational processes according to the digital economy needs and with regard to modern technologies in order to train in-demand specialists and create regional ecosystems. The workshop programme includes classes in laboratories on big data, digital footprints, quantum, genetic and neurotechnologies, additive technologies and bionic design, wireless and satellite communication technologies and Internet of things.

The project Island 10-22 will result in more than 100 developed university teams and projects on qualitative changes of universities and regions, transformation of education, as well as dozens of cooperation and coordination agreements between HEIs and development institutions and corporations, which are planned to be signed on the final day.
