On July 9, the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation held a solemn ceremony of awarding diplomas to its MA students, who are now Masters in linguistics and recognized top-level language professionals.

The event was traditionally attended by representatives of the ASU administration, Astrakhan Government, diplomatic missions of Kazakhstan, Iran, Turkmenistan and Slovakia, public organizations of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, teachers and parents of the graduates. Besides, the ceremony was attended by Andrey Lopukhov, the Director of the Linguistic Support Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, which indicates strong support of MFA Russia to the Caspian School.

ASU Acting Rector Konstantin Markelov congratulated the School graduates with their successful completion of the Master’s degree programme and stressed their relevance both for the regional and for the federal and international markets, including for companies of the Caspian states, countries of Europe, Central and Southeast Asia. As the Rector said, the university is proud of the Caspian School graduates’ employment in their degree field, because it is an indicator of a high quality of education, provided by the university. Konstantin Markelov especially thanked MFA Russia for their supervision of the School activities and pedagogical assistance and expressed his gratitude to Aleksandr Zhilkin, who also attended the ceremony, for his long-year support of the project.

The 2019 cohort of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation is nine Masters in linguistics who are top-class interpreters and translations. Some of them already have a job in their degree field, while the others are to find their place in the T & I world, and we are sure they’ll find it: our graduates are highly sought after both by regional enterprises and by federal-level government institutions, and someone will surely find a job abroad.
