ASU Successfully Tested Its New Professional Retraining Programme

The additional professional programme “Mechanical transport maintenance and repairing” was developed at the request of an Astrakhan enterprise and implemented by the Department of Continuing Education and ASU College in the past academic year.

Ilmira Kurmaeva, the Head of the ASU College Mechanical Unit, was the programme director and the main teacher.

During their studies within the course, the participants gained professional competencies in engineering graphics, materials science, motor vehicle construction and electrical equipment, metalwork, metal machining, disassembly and assembly operations. The programme also included some distance-learning activities.

As Ilmira Kurmaeva says, the attendees acquired the theoretical fundamentals and technical skills at a high level, which was demonstrated by them during the presentation of their final papers.

In near future, the course participants will be awarded the certificates on professional retraining and qualification "technical engineer".

The additional professional programme is an example of successful interaction between the Department of Continuing Education, an actual company of Astrakhan region and the ASU College. Cooperation with regional organizations in such a format is planned to be continued in the next academic year.
