Astrakhan State University Student Undergoes an Internship in France

Language internships abroad offer a wide range of opportunities for students: they advance their colloquial foreign language, learn about the culture and everyday life of another country, about business ethics in foreign organizations and so on. Ekaterina Zheltova, an ASU 3rd year student who is now in the very heart of France, talks about specificity of her foreign internship and gives advice to those who would like to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the French charm but still doubt.

It should be recalled that Astrakhan State University provides its students with in-depth study courses in 15 languages. This year, the university is going to establish a Chair of Hindi. According to international experts’ evaluations, the ASU Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation is one of the best in Russia. A high level of students’ language proficiency allows them to undertake language internships. For example, recently the MA students of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation paid a unique study visit to the European Union institutions.

Ekaterina Zheltova, a 3rd year student of the major «International Relations» of the Faculty of Social Communications, is now doing a language course in France. The main advantage of such a trip is real practice of French and full immersion in the culture and everyday life of the country. The programme organizers provide with all the comfortable conditions for living — free accommodation and three meals, as well as a scholarship.
