RF Ministry of Science and Higher Education and Sberbank Sign an Agreement on State Support of Student Loans
What if you didn’t manage to obtain a state-funded place and to study for free and you don’t have enough funds to pay for education? To help such students, the RF Ministry of Science and Higher Education and Sberbank of Russia have developed a project on state support of student loans for Russian citizens.
According to the agreement, signed between the Ministry and Sberbank, from August 1, 2019, if a student takes out a loan to study in a higher educational institution that has a license to carry out educational activities, he/she will have the grace period for the whole period of study plus three months. During the grace period, the borrower will not pay the principal amount of the student loan, as well as a part of the interests for the first and second years of the student loan use. Starting from the third year, the repayment of current interests is made in full. The interest rate of the student loan will be moderate.
It should be recalled that in 2019, Astrakhan State University and Sberbank signed the strategic partnership agreement. Within the framework of their cooperation, the parties will develop a joint programme on teaching cybersecurity to students and teachers and implement joint projects in educational and engineering areas.
