ASU Department of Continuing Education Sums Up Results of the Past Academic Year

More than 400 specialists successfully completed their studies within the professional retraining programmes at the Department of Continuing Education, and the half of them is students, who were doing additional education programmes along with mastering their majors.

It should be noted that the list of the programmes, completed by the graduates of the Department of Continuing Education, includes new courses which were implemented for the first time in the past academic year. All the programmes are practice-oriented, were developed upon request of real enterprises and implemented with involvement of practising experts.

Programmes of additional professional education of Astrakhan State University are in-demand both in our region and beyond. For example, in the past academic year, 14 attendees who completed the courses were from the Republic of Kalmykiya.

Prior to the beginning of the part academic year, the Department of Continuing Education underwent some structural changes, connected with the establishment of a new subdivision — the Unit of Corporate Training.

The 2018/19 academic year also saw other fruitful events: the Department published the third issue of the interuniversity collected scientific papers “Science & Practice in 21st Century” within the framework of the project “Open Education”. It held the second competitions in English and fulfilled it old idea — opened a leadership club.
