Astrakhan State University Welcomes a Representative of the Russian Government

On August 30, ASU welcomed Anatoly Kirienko, the Deputy Chief of the RF Government Staff, who paid a business visit to our university. Accompanied by ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov, the guest had a look at the main units of the university.

Anatoly Kirienko was shown the Academic & Laboratory Building, where Aleksey Rybakov, the Director of the Institute of Physics & Mathematics, told the guest about the scientific developments of ASU students and staff members at the Robotic Engineering Laboratory.

The researchers of the Laboratory of Assembling & Testing of Full-Scale Models & Prototypes presented a chair for people with special need, different lasts for foot treatment and the glasses that allow blind persons to orient themselves in the environment. The Centre for 3D Analysis of Biomechanics of Movements demonstrated the operating principle of the special equipment. Next came the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation. Konstantin Markelov told the distinguished guest that the School is one of the best language schools in Russia. The university has established direct communication with the Linguistic Support Department of the MFA Russia, and its specialists and management pay visits to ASU with lectures and participate in final examination of the graduating students. International experts consider the technical facilities of the School classrooms as one of the best in Russia.

During the excursion, Konstantin Markelov and Anatoly Kirienko managed to discuss the main aspects of the educational process organization, possibilities for cooperation and development of the scientific potential of Astrakhan State University as the leading university of the Caspian region.
