Gazprombank Proposes a Joint Project of Issuing Campus Cards to ASU

August 30 saw a business meeting of Astrakhan State University Rector Konstantin Markelov with Natalia Tretiyak, the First Vice President of Gazprombank and a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Lawyers of Russia. The parties discussed possible cooperation in introduction of new projects into the university’s system.

During the meeting, the partners presented several developments of the bank to the university. For example, the programme “Banking Support” will not let the subcontractor or supplier spend money for items that are not stipulated by the programme: it’ll be impossible to cash it. This programme guarantees money insurance.

The second project, offered by Gazprombank, is a campus card. It is a universal instrument which will allow the students both to make contactless payments, supported by MIR and Mastercard technologies, receive their scholarship and, above all, be identified when entering the university campuses and dormitories.

Another peculiarity of the Gazprombank campus product is that the bank developed it in cooperation with the Russian Union of Youth, which, by the way, has a very active subdivision in Astrakhan.

Konstantin Markelov stressed that Astrakhan State University and the Union are longstanding partners and the Head of their Astrakhan regional office is an ASU student. That’s why he paid special attention to the presented project of the campus card and noted its advantages for international trips of the students.

In his turn, the ASU Rector put forward an idea of introducing a system of control over attendance and implementation of the educational process at the university. This development implies that both the students, teachers and staff members will be able to enter a lecture room only with using their card.
