ASU Autumn Welcome Day Drew a Full House

The event hall of the main building of the leading Astrakhan university barely found room for everyone wishing to attend. Prospective students and their parents took a perfect opportunity to learn firsthand about the university and the educational programmes it offers.

A mini multidisciplinary exhibition had been prepared for the guests of the ASU first welcoming day of the new academic year, which combined the paintings, prepared by the Art Salon, and robots, created by MA students of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics & Engineering.

At the event hall of the ASU main building, school leavers-to-be and their parents were welcomed by representatives of the most important structural units of the university.

Rector Konstantin Markelov called ASU one of the most respected universities of Southern Russia. He made a particular emphasis on the university’s close ties with more than 100 industrial partners.

Vice-Rector for Academic Activities Aleksandr Treshchev noted that Astrakhan State University is quite unique, first of all because of a wide range of the training programmes offered. Moreover, ASU is the only HEI of Astrakhan region that trains specialists in many of them, for example these are pedagogical majors, philology, history, foreign languages and geography.

The university representatives gave detailed answers to the prospective students’ questions on the commercial enrollment procedure, number and location of dormitories, enrollment ranking in case of equal passing scores and so on.

After the general part of the event, the guests could talk to the deans of the faculties they are interested in and learn more about the enrollment and specific study programmes.
