ASU Students Discuss Issues of Anti-Corruption Measures

On October 24, Astrakhan State University held a round-table discussion “Urgent Issues and Current Problems of Fight against Corruption”. During the event, university students and anti-corruption experts considered possible ways of reducing corruption in Russia.

The participants discussed possible corruption-related situations and marked out consequences of corruption. The students especially got interested in issues, connected with activities of the Corruption Prevention Unit.

Students of the ASU Law Faculty and Faculty of Agribusiness, Technologies & Veterinary Medicine also presented their reports on the topic under discussion. The participants arrived at a common view that it would be difficult to eradicate corruption but possible to minimize it through anti-corruption activities which are aimed at corruption prevention and removal of corruption causes and conditions in society.

The round-table discussion was organized by the Public Relations Directorate of the Municipal Entity “City of Astrakhan”, the Corruption Prevention Unit of the Municipal Service & Personnel Directorate of the Administration of the Municipal Entity “City of Astrakhan” and Astrakhan regional office of the all-Russia social organization “Union of Lawyers of Russia”.
