Astrakhan State University Holds Patent Seminar

On October 29, the ASU Boiling Point held the seminar “Strategic Approach to Patenting”. The participants discussed how to identify potentially protectable results of intellectual activities, plan patent activity, minimize costs and a lot more.

The class was delivered by Aleksandr Levkin, the Director General of Tsarksaya Privilegiya (eng. tsar privilege) LLC. The invited expert mentioned briefly some branches of law and marked out patents, know-how, trademarks and industrial designs as the most important ones for techpreneurs.

Aleksandr Levkin told the participants how to identify items that are of commercial value and can be protected, how different stages of product life cycle and sales strategy are connected with intellectual property results, how to develop and implement a long-term plan for cost minimization, prevent risks and capture the full benefits. The seminar covered such issues as niceties of international patenting, connection between Russian and foreign patents, IT patenting and reimbursement of costs for intellectual property protection.
